New Resource Solutions was formed back in 2016 by solar veterans frustrated with the status quo of project finance. We wondered how on earth is anyone supposed to transact on a PPA deal if the project value is less than $1M or $2M?
So we spent a few years in the market getting our hands dirty on hundreds of different deals. Some deals were big, while other deals were small. Some deals were with extremely sophisticated parties, while other deals were with first timers. We worked on deals from southern California to Maine and about 30 states in between. We worked on PPAs, leases, and ESAs.
And what did we learn from all of those experiences? Three truths persisted: 1) developers, EPCs, and investors truly do want to see more solar built, 2) everyone works better with clear expectations, and 3) everyone is extremely busy, meaning a lot of the pure “busy work” in a transaction gets deprioritized, which inevitably leads to confusion and frustration.
NRS used those experiences and learnings to form the foundation for Conductor Solar, a transaction platform to simplify solar deals. We also want to see more solar built, and we think that’s possible with a central tool to help set clear expectations and hit a home run on the “busy work” so you don’t have to worry about it.
